By car
From the A12 head for the B1025 that leads from Colchester to Mersea Island. The B1025 crosses ‘The Strood’ causeway onto Mersea Island and straight to Oysterbed Cottage, where off-street parking awaits. Be sure to check Mersea Island’s tide timetable before you leave since The Strood occasionally floods at high tide!
By bus
Take the 67 bus from Colchester coach station on Queens Street to the High Street, West Mersea.
By train
If coming from London, Colchester station is only 55 minutes from Liverpool Street station, then a 20-minute taxi ride to West Mersea.
